More details to follow On 20 April 2021, ECOSOC agreed (E/2021/L.14) that the theme for the 2021 ECOSOC Humanitarian Affairs Segment (HAS) will be “Strengthening humanitarian assistance to face the challenges of 2021 and beyond: mobilizing respect for international humanitarian law, inclusion, gender, innovation and partnerships.” The 2021 HAS will be held from 23 to 25 June in a hybrid format. Since 1998, the Segment has been an essential platform for discussing issues related to strengthening the coordination and effectiveness of the humanitarian assistance of the United Nations, including assessing progress and identifying emerging issues, obstacles and challenges. Women Rise: A GBV Psychosocial Framework and Toolkit from International Rescue Committee Please join the GBV AoR Community of Practice as we host the International Rescue Committee to present Women Rise, the new toolkit they have developed, funded by USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance. Women Rise provides comprehensive guidance and tools for GBV-centered psychosocial support activities in Women and Girls’ Safe Spaces. The toolkit is designed specifically for GBV programmers and focuses on providing group psychosocial support activities in feminist, grass-roots, survivor-centered ways. The presentation in the webinar will highlight all sections of the toolkit, various options for use, and dive deeper into the Women Rise group psychosocial support curriculum. Le Groupe de travail régional sur la VBG pour l'Afrique orientale et australe est heureux de vous inviter à la série de webinaires "Pratiques émergentes" qui se tient ce mois-ci en français (mercredi 23 June) à 15h00 (heure d’Afrique de l'Est). Le coordinateur du sous-groupe sectoriel VBG au Burundi présentera les résultats de la récente « évaluation sur les normes sociales en lien avec les violences faites aux femmes et filles réalisée dans le cadre d’un projet conjoint UNFPA et PNUD ». 6 provinces ont été ciblées par cette évaluation dont Bujumbura, Kayanza, Kirundo, Gitega et Rumonge. Il va focaliser sa présentation sur la méthodologie utilisée, les objectifs, résultats clés et comment ces derniers seront capitalisés afin de renseigner les programmes en cours et à venir.
