This secondary data review of GBV in Lebanon covers existing secondary data from 2018-2022. This report aims to inform GBV prevention and response interventions and complement existing analyses and reports. This SDR report was produced by experts from the GBV AoR Helpdesk in collaboration with the relevant GBV Sub-Cluster, REGA and Global GBV AoR Coordination Team.

Les bailleurs des fonds ont naturellement la responsabilité de rationaliser leur financement dans les situations d’urgence humanitaire afin de garantir que le soutien qu’ils apportent correspond aux besoins. À cet égard, de nombreux bailleurs des fonds demandent comme condition préalable aux acteurs chargés de lutter contre la violence basée sur le genre (VBG) des données de prévalence sur l’ampleur de la VBG dans des contextes particuliers. Cela s’est particulièrement vérifié dans le contexte de la pandémie de COVID-19, où les chiffres semblent motiver l’action des donateurs.

Este informe explicativo tiene como objetivo servir de herramienta a donadores y administradores de programas de ayuda para víctimas de GBV para apoyar los debates sobre lo que ya sabemos acerca del alcance de la GBV en los entornos humanitarios, por qué la recopilación de datos de prevalencia de la GBV no es una prioridad en los entornos humanitarios y en qué fuentes de datos pueden confiar los donantes y los profesionales para informar la toma de decisiones en los programas de ayuda para víctimas de GBV.

These guidelines promote responsible and effective representation and reporting of violence against women and violence against children for public advocacy purposes, such as media coverage and awareness raising campaigns. While the causes, risk factors, prevalence, patterns and consequences of violence against women and violence against children may differ, many of the considerations for ethically, safely and effectively communicating these issues are crosscutting. These guidelines are intended for media practitioners, United Nations country offices and other development and civil society organisations communicating about violence against women and violence against children.
