The Gender-Based Violence Area of Responsibility (GBV AoR) invites you to the launch of its five-year strategy which focuses on its strategic priorities and vision for addressing GBV in emergencies through a coordination based, lessons learned approach, and newly emerging circumstances. As the side event of the Call to Action Annual Meeting, this event proposed ‘Growing Momentum: The GBV AoR’s Strategic Priorities for 2021-25’ will specifically focus on the AoR’s strategic priorities for the next 5-year period and its vision for addressing GBV in emergencies by further supporting coordination based on lessons learned and emerging circumstances. GBV AoR Strategy 2021-2025 Launch Event
We are happy to invite you to the launch of our GBV AoR five-year strategy at a side event during next week's Call to Action Network Meeting. The event will focus on the new strategic priorities and our vision for addressing GBV in emergencies through a coordination based, lessons learned approach and adaptations required to effectively operate and address emerging issues, new needs and circumstances. GBV AoR Capacity Strengthening Strategy 2023 — 2028

This Strategy focuses on strengthening the capacity of Country AoR Members, including local actors, and Country AoR Coordination Teams, to enhance their respective programming and coordination capacities for GBV prevention and response. It has been developed in consultation with the IASC GBV Guidelines Reference Group, the global interagency coordination group leading capacity building efforts on GBV risk mitigation with humanitarian actors working in non-GBV sectors and clusters. This ensures dedicated capacity strengthening on all three core components of GBV Programming: mitigation, prevention and response, while simultaneously reinforcing that GBV is a shared responsibility across the entire humanitarian system. Introduction to the “life cycle” of the Whole of Syria Adolescent Girls Strategy
To celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child (October 11), we are inviting you to join the GBV AoR Community of Practice and special guests the Whole of Syria GBV AoR for a week dedicated to learning and discussing GBV and Adolescent Girls. In 2017, the Syria Humanitarian Needs Overview identified adolescent Syrian girls as particularly vulnerable to child marriage and sexual violence and completely overlooked and ignored in the humanitarian response. Based on these findings and consultations held with GBV and SRH actors and with adolescent girls themselves, the Whole of Syria GBV Area of Responsibility and the Reproductive Health working group agreed to develop a strategy that would address the specific needs of adolescent girls in Syria, focusing on reproductive health and gender based violence.
