The GBV AoR Community of Practice and GBV AoR Helpdesk hosted the webinar: Adapting for the Shadow Pandemic: Guidance on Remote GBV Services for Phone-based Case Management and Hotlines on 1 March 2021. The event is part of a two webinar series and supports the release of the COVID-19 Guidance on Remote GBV Services Focusing on Phone-based Case Management and Hotlines https://tinyurl.com/wjy7tuum . This new resource presents options for adapting GBV case management in the context of COVID-19 so that survivors can continue to access safe and confidential services. It focuses on phone-based case management and also provides recommendations for scaling up hotlines. The first session, 1 March, presents the different sections of the toolkit to introduce the new resource so everyone is familiar with it. The second session, 11 March allows participants to interact with different GBV actors involved in developing the tool.

Today, more than any time in the history of this region, the need for innovative and collaborative solutions is urgent. We are therefore pleased to share with humanitarians worldwide this latest addition to our Knowlege Series products, which encapsulates a variety of lessons learned and best practices in the gathering of gender-based violence data to improve humanitarian responses. The information presented in this guide is based on years of experience in the development of Voices from Syria — one of the most lauded in-depth analyses of gender-based violence in a humanitarian context, and one that has been hailed as a global best practice. "We Must Do Better" to realize the localization agenda for women and girl-led organizations
@VOICEamplified and @UNICEF are creating space for local women’s groups to have their voices heard to help set priorities and influence decision-making within the humanitarian system. The conversation will center findings from the “We Must Do Better” report, which highlights the COVID-19 experiences of more than 200 women-led organisations with inputs from 41 countries on six continents. Generation Equality Forum: Mexico City
The Generation Equality Forum will kick off in Mexico City 29-31 March 2021, hosted by the Government of Mexico. With civil society at its core, the Generation Equality Forum Mexico Forum will reinforce the power and voice of feminist movements and youth and the commitment and action of different stake holders, including high level representatives from Member States, the private sector and international organizations. By analyzing progress and gaps since the 1995 Beijing Women’s conference, including the heightened urgency posed by the COVID crisis, the vent will make the case for strengthened intergenerational and transformative feminist leadership and accelerated action on gender. Sixty-Fifth Session of the Commission on the Status of Women
The sixty-fifth session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place from 15 to 26 March 2021. In light of the evolving COVID-19 situation, and taking into account the latest guidance from the United Nations Secretary-General and the World Health Organization (WHO), CSW65 will take place in a hybrid format with mostly virtual meetings. Representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world are invited to attend the session. Themes Priority theme: Women's full and effective participation and decision-making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence, for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls; Review theme: Women's empowerment and the link to sustainable development (agreed conclusions of the sixtieth session)
We Must Do Better: A Feminist Assessment of the Humanitarian Aid System’s Support of Women- and Girl-Led Organizations during the COVID-19 Pandemic

VOICE’s “We Must Do Better” report represents the first attempt at a global feminist assessment of the experiences of women and girls, and the organizations they lead, during the COVID-19 pandemic. It looks at their lives holistically to see how the pandemic impacts their organizations and communities, and how humanitarian responders engage with them, if at all.
AGENT webinar, Gender-Based Violence in a Changing Climate: Challenges and action – from grassroots to policy
This webinar will focus on the linkages between GBV and climate change through a moderated discussion with experts addressing these issues at multiple levels. Speakers will have the opportunity to share their local/regional knowledge and experiences and advocate to others about the needs at the local, programming and policy levels.
