‘Blind Spots’: Unaccompanied and Separated Girls in Europe (UNICEF and Child Hub Webinar)

The purpose of the webinar is to shed light on the specific experiences and issues of unaccompanied and separate girls in the European Response. UNICEF’s Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia has been focusing on this issues through the programme on “Action Against Gender-Based Violence Affecting Refugee and Migrant Women and Children in Greece, Italy, Serbia and Bulgaria”, funded by the United States Government.

Localization Task Team: Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Workshop Final Report - June 2019

From June 26-27, 2019, the Localization Task Team of the Gender-Based Violence Area of Responsibility (GBV AoR) hosted a Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regional workshop at the Dead Sea in Jordan. The meeting included a total of 27 participants, including representatives from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen along with global and regional actors.

Cash Assistance and the Prevention, Mitigation and Response to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) - UNHCR 2019

The research in all three countries (Ecuador, Lebanon, Morocco) was centered around the outcomes of Cash Based Interventions (CBIs) on the prevention, mitigation and response to SGBV amongst recipients of assistance.

Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Myanmar and the Gendered Impact of its Ethnic Conflicts - HRC August 2019

Conflicts impact different genders differently. Myanmar is no exception to this rule. The Mission found the gendered impact of Myanmar’s conflicts to be multi-faceted, while invariably taking a heavy toll on women and girls. In northern Myanmar, women and girls have borne the brunt of violations, including sexual and gender-based violence, as well as a wide spectrum of violations of their basic economic and social rights against the backdrop of existing gender inequality.

GBV Program Manager (Afghanistan)

The primary function of the Protection (GBV) Program Manager is to provide technical and managerial guidance for successful implementation of GBV prevention and response activities of International Medical Corps, funded by a variety of donors.  The GBV program has been growing in the past year, and expanded specifically the grass-root based approach. Currently IMC Afghanistan have two main approaches to GBV. One is through family protection centers at hospitals where medical, legal and counselling can be accessed.

GBV Technial Specialist (Ukraine)

The GBV Technical Specialist will ensure the principles of effective and high quality GBV programming are applied by providing technical support and supervision consistent with international and national standards and ensure that program design and implementation creates no harm in the communities, promotes humanitarian principles and has positive impact. The GBV Technical Specialist will be responsible for strategy development, program design, implementation, standardization, and evaluation of all GBV-related activities in IMC Ukraine integrated protection program.

Consultant-EMAP

A key component under this project is to engage men through accountable practices for reducing GBV and VAWG in refugee villages. In the first quarter of project implementation, IMC field staff will be trained on EMAP after contextualizing the EMAP model. Then community men and boys will be engaged through EMAP model for their effective and sustainable contribution towards greater objectives of the project interventions.

Program Manager, Prevention of Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse (PSHEA)

The PSHEA Specialist and CCIC PSHEA Sector Hub Manager will play a critical role at CCIC, leading the establishment of the Sector Hub and its related activities.  In this role, you will manage project funding from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) to develop and deploy trainings and related materials, develop a repository of best practice and management tools/policies, conduct research, liaise and coordinate with international PSEA initiatives, and provide on-going technical assistance to stakeholders across Canada.
