Research Query: Supporting GBV Survivors who are Pregnant due to Rape
08 Apr, 2021

While there is a growing body of evidence about the extent of sexual violence in conflict settings, there is little peer-reviewed research about pregnancies and childbirth as a result of rape, particularly in humanitarian emergencies or in relation to supporting survivors. As a result, sources for this research query primarily comprise “grey literature” – assessments, reports and guidance published by non-governmental organizations, including abortion rights organizations, and United Nations agencies. Additional resources for practitioners are provided at the end of the report.
