Please join us for the launch of InterAction’s updated PSEA Training Package. These new and improved modules represent a successful collective effort to develop engaging, forward-thinking and user-friendly materials for a wide audience of humanitarian and development organizations. Training Course - Gender-based Violence in Humanitarian Action
This training is addressed at professionals with a protection background and/or with a basic to good understanding of gender-based violence and/or gender programming who: • Are working or planning to work in humanitarian and development contexts and have a special focus of interest in expanding their knowledge on gender-based violence; • or Are already working on gender-based violence programming and are interested in deepening their understanding on GBV programming as well as applying their knowledge in different contexts with a group of peers; • and Demonstrate commitment to complete the 5-day, face-to-face training course and to actively participate in hands-on individual and group projects in a creative and stimulating environment.

In order to address these gaps, the Human Rights Center (HRC), Save the Children, and Plan International partnered on a long-term research initiative to strengthen child marriage prevention and response in humanitarian settings. This qualitative study, the second phase of the three-phase initiative, sought to better understand the risk and protective factors, decision-making processes, service and support needs of girls and their caregivers that contribute to vulnerability to child marriage, and community perspectives on solutions for addressing and responding to child marriage in humanitarian settings.
Global Protection Forum 2021
Global Protection Forum 2021 will take place during the last week of October 2021. The participants are invited to showcase frontline work, hear from local voices and engage with protection actors and members states on current protection work in humanitarian operations. The forum consists of 12 sessions spread across one week, including a formal opening and a virtual exhibition space accessible to all. Discussions will include: protection of civilians, mental health and psychosocial support, engagement with armed actors, role of faith actors in protection, anti-trafficking work in conflict settings, cash voucher assistance and child protection, management and follow up on individual protection cases, frontline local protection leadership and response, property and land rights, climate change and conflict contexts.

During 2020, the GBV AoR regional support teams strengthened GBV coordination in emergencies in 24 countries. COVID-19 necessitated moving to remote assistance. REGA teams were bolstered by the arrival of new regional experts in information management (IM), rapid response, GBV preparedness and academic partnerships. Despite the hurdles related to the pandemic, regional and country level advocacy and technical support for the GBV community continued across five regions. UNFPA provided effective management support through its regional and country operations.
