Recent travel restrictions due to COVID-19 prevent the REGA team from providing their normal level of in-country support. Therefore, they have organized a series of short, field-oriented webinars in English and French throughout March and April to ensure that technical support is constant during this global crisis. Este recurso presenta opciones para adaptar la gestión de casos de VBG al contexto de la pandemia de COVID-19 con el fin de que las sobrevivientes puedan continuar accediendo y recibiendo servicios seguros y confidenciales. Se centra sobre todo en la gestión de casos por teléfono. En este recurso, la gestión de casos por teléfono se define como la gestión de casos que proporcionan las gestoras de casos mediante el teléfono para las clientes existentes (o, en algunos casos, cuando los recursos, la seguridad y los procesos de remisión permiten tener clientes nuevas a través de remisiones directas). Se puede acceder mediante citas acordadas entre la sobreviviente y la gestora de casos o mediante llamadas que realizan las sobrevivientes cuando la gestora de casos esté disponible (es decir, no está abierto al público o no cuenta con personal operativo 24 horas).

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a devastating toll on women and girls’ safety in already complex humanitarian emergencies. Risk mitigation measures to prevent the spread of the virus, including lockdowns and restrictions of movement, made specific and serious disruptions in women and girls’ lives. These factors also intensified operational challenges to delivering lifesaving gender-based violence (GBV) response services, which in complex humanitarian settings were already an arduous undertaking.
