Prevention and Response to Cross-Border FGM Across Africa
The UNFPA and UNICEF Regional Offices of West and Central Africa (WCARO), East and Southern Africa (ESARO), and Arab States and the Middle East and North Africa (ASRO/MENA) all have programmes addressing cross-border FGM in their various regions. We are happy to share with you the findings of these studies during this webinar, which will be conducted in English, French and Arabic with the aid of translation services.

04 Jul, 2019
The Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS) is a direct result of the Joint Standards Initiative (JSI) in which the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP) International, People In Aid and the Sphere Project joined forces to seek greater coherence for users of humanitarian standards. The JSI consulted more than 2,000 humanitarian workers in head offices, regions and in disaster-prone countries. GBV AoR (Area of Responsibility) Advocacy Note for Cabo Delgado

More recently, clashes between the NSAG and local forces were reported in Muidumbe district; as a result, community members, including women and children were reported missing, and others killed. According to International Organization for Migration (IOM) there is continued movement of people to Ibo, Pemba, Mueda, Montepuez, Nangade, Ancuabe, and Chiure by boat, bus, and foot, respectively. Civilians have been exposed to human rights abuses. Women and girls are at risk of gender-based violence including sexual violence, and abduction.
