Delivering GBV Programming in Hostile Environments
This event will mark the launch of the 16 Days of Activism campaign by Regional GBViE Working Group for East and Southern Africa. GBV Expert, Joanna Creighton, will present a learning brief recently published by the GBV AoR's Helpdesk entitled: Finding Ways and Means to Deliver GBV Programming in Hostile Environments. Women from local organizations will also share their experiences about the challenges of delivering GBV services in very complex environments.
From Commitments to Action: Strengthening Disability Inclusion in GBV Programming
UNFPA Asia and the Pacific Regional Office is committed to making sure that all efforts to address GBV are inclusive of and accessible to women and girls with disabilities. To meet this critical need, UNFPA APRO has developed a range of tools for UNFPA Country Offices and partners, including organizations of persons with disabilities and GBV service providers, to strengthen disability inclusion in different stages of GBV programming. The package includes: The Tip-sheet on Disability Inclusion in GBV Programming which outlines the entry points and actions for disability inclusion in GBV programme planning, implementation and monitoring. The GBV and Disability Inclusion Assessment Tool which supports GBV service providers to assess the accessibility and inclusiveness of GBV services to the needs of women and girls with disabilities. Breaking Barriers: Empowering Women-Led Organizations in GBV Prevention in Emergencies
Recognizing the critical role of women-led organizations in addressing GBV, this webinar aims to shed light on innovative approaches to support these organizations, amplify their voices, and explore strategic funding mechanisms to empower them and their efforts to prevent GBV from occurring during emergencies. This event will highlight the approaches in strengthening the role of WLOs in GBV coordination, capacity to influence humanitarian decision making and increasing access to more flexible, longer-term humanitarian financing. Examples of recent achievements include the global CERF grant and its higher-than-target funding to WLOs, and the IASC Principals Roundtable on GBV financing hosted by the ERC and Germany, in its Call to Action leadership role.
