The WHO Department of Reproductive Health and Research (RHR) seeks an experienced gender-based violence training specialist to work on a project focused on gender-based violence (GBV) in emergencies. This 6-month consultancy will focus on providing trainings on the health response to GBV and other technical support to francophone countries in Africa.

On October 22, 2019 from 8:00-9:30 am (EST) , the Localization Task Team of the Gender-Based Violence Area of Responsibility (GBV AoR) will be hosting a webinar entitled, “GBV Localization and Young Survivors in Humanitarian Contexts.”   Featuring the work of the Child and Adolescent Survivor Initiative (CASI), this webinar will examine how localization can be effectively be promoted within the context of prevention, response and coordination initiatives for young survivors of sexual violence in emergency settings

GBViE (GBV in Emergencies) Information Management Analyst

Under the direct supervision of the GBV Program Specialist in Cox’s Bazar and the overall supervision of the Head of Sub-Office,  the GBViE Information Management Officer is responsible for maintaining, strengthening, leading and managing the data collection and monitoring and evaluation functions for UNFPA GBV programmes in Cox’s Bazaar, including providing training to UNFPA partners on ethical and safe data collection and management to fulfil UNFPA’s reporting requirements to the JRP and GBV sub-sector.

Leading the way: Women-led localisation in Central Sulawesi: Towards gender transformative action - ActionAid 2019

Building on the extensive work of ActionAid and others, this research evidences, and advocates for, an approach to localisation which prioritises the leadership of local women and women-led organisations who have been overlooked, undervalued and under resourced in humanitarian response to date.

Webinar: The Mobile Gender Gap in Humanitarian Crises

Join the IASC GenCap Project, GSMA Mobile for Humanitarian Innovation (M4H), and CaLP to discuss the ways in which female refugees are (or are not!) using phones and mobile-enabled services. GSMA will discuss their recent research on the mobile gender gap in refugee contexts as well as why and when humanitarian organisations could use mobile money enabled cash and voucher assistance (CVA). The GenCap and CaLP will respond to these findings and provide real world examples of what has worked well and challenges we need to overcome.
