The Gender-Based Violence Area of Responsibility (GBV AoR), led by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is seeking the support of a new CASI expert to improve the quality of and access to services for child and adolescent survivors of sexual violence in emergencies.
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the Ending Violence against Women unit in the UN Women Regional Office for Asia and Pacific by providing ongoing support through research, drafting proposals, concept notes for activities and events, briefs and presentations, as well as support the implementation of the Stepping Up programme and country offices in the region. This consultancy is expected to be full-time and based in UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the
Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand.
Under the supervision of the Manager of the Inclusion, Protection and Engagement unit, the officer’s primary role is to ensure that the IFRC’s key policy and strategic commitments to preventing and responding to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence are upheld, by supporting National Societies’ action.
The GBV team leader will oversee Gender and GBV works to keep UNFPA leadership in SGBV intervention within the country. He/She works under the supervision of the Representative.
The WPE Emergency Response Team Coordinator is a member of VPRU and the EHAU. During emergency deployments ERT staff will work under the direction of IRC’s Emergency Field Director or designated country emergency lead. During times with no acute emergency deployment the ERT Coordinator will report to the Senior Technical Advisor, VPRU Emergencies.
Cash and voucher assistance (CVA) has become a valuable and increasingly utilized tool in humanitarian response in Burundi. CVA has been shown to contribute to the resilience of vulnerable populations, but in order to maximize its effectiveness, humanitarian actors should establish Gender-Based Violence (GBV) risk prevention and mitigation measures.
