The armed conflict in the North Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of Congo has had a devastating impact on the safety and well-being of women and girls. As civilians move in search of safety, they face multiple attacks and threats, including rape by individuals and gangs and forced recruitment and sexual slavery by armed militants operating with virtual impunity.

The Annual Report presents the work carried out by the GPC in 2024 to protect and improve the lives of tens of millions of people in need of protection. As we face significant challenges at the outset of this year, this Annual Report provides an opportunity to reflect on our achievements and the challenges we face, to recognize the strength of our network, and identify areas where we can improve.
