Regional GBV Working Group's Monthly "Emerging Practice" Webinar Series: Successful Community Based GBV Protection Practices - 23 March @ 3:00
The Regional GBV Working Group is pleased to invite you to our monthly "emerging practice" webinar series which will take place on Tuesday, 23 March from 15:00 - 16:00 (EAT - Nairobi time). This month's discussion will be facilitated by our member Chi-Chi Undie from the Population Council and will feature one of the community-based partners who implemented one of the highlighted interventions. As noted previously, this webinar series is designed to promote the work of national and community-based partners from across the region working on GBV prevention and response. Please do forward this invitation to others in your networks who might be interested in learning more about this topic.
This presentation describes a collaborative, participatory, inclusive methodology employed by the UNHCR East and Horn of Africa, and Great Lakes (EHAGL) Bureau to develop a regional compendium of community-based protection practices/interventions implemented across sectors by its stakeholders (UNHCR country operations, implementing partners, Persons of Concern, government, and host communities) prior to and during COVID-19. Drawing on nearly 70 interventions from across 10 country operations, the compendium summarizes regional information on promising practices, emerging practices, and case studies that form part of UNHCR’s response to the needs of Persons of Concern in the EHAGL region. The presentation will outline the lessons learned from developing the regional compendium, while also showcasing how this resource fosters south-south and global exchange, and helps to clarify programming strengths, gaps, and common themes across the region.
