On October 31, 2019 from 8:00-9:30 am (EST), the Localization Task Team of the Gender-Based Violence Area of Responsibility (GBV AoR) will be hosting a webinar entitled, “Global Mapping Study on GBV Localization: A Review of Key Findings and Implications.” This study was conducted from February- March 2019 by CARE and ActionAid International, as co-leads of the GBV AoR Localization Task Team, and involved 45 key informant interviews as well as an analysis of quantitative data sources. The purpose of this study was to examine the issue of GBV localization in humanitarian contexts, with a particular focus on the role that women and women-led organizations play in the area of GBV prevention, response and coordination initiatives. Karly Bennett, who conducted this research and wrote the report, will provide an overview of key findings and implications. There will also be time for questions as well as a discussion around the implications of this research for future action.
