Among the recommendations from CARE’s analysis to host governments and humanitarian actors are the following:

• Improve the capacity of border facilities and reception centres to accommodate refugees, ensuring safe spaces for women and girls
• Increase support for Polish medical facilities to respond to refugees’ needs in maternal, neonatal and child health care
• Ensure accessible information about services and rights to all refugees arriving in Poland
• Provide female sanitary items in standard hygiene packages at the border crossings and initial reception centres
