It is a well-established fact that adolescent girls face a heightened risk of personal safety violations and human rights abuses during emergencies. Yet, because there is no clear division of labour between the GBV and child protection sectors, adolescent girls are often neglected by both groups, and violence against this subpopulation goes unaddressed. GBV prevention and response programming still needs to do more to understand their needs.
In this webinar, we will be learning from a review of evidence published in The Lancet on a special edition of Child and Adolescent Health. Community of Practice members, Dr.Chen Reis at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at University of Denver, and Drs. Linsday Stark and Ilana Seff at the Center for Violence and Injury Prevention at Washington University in St. Louis – will speak about the experience of adolescent girls in humanitarian settings and what works to prevent and respond to GBV.
For anyone working with adolescent girls or on GBV prevention and response, this webinar is a great opportunity to learn from our GBV AOR Community of Practice colleagues and see a 20-year review of the evidence. Tune in to better understand our role as GBViE specialists in working with adolescent girls.
